In addition to our outdoor nature-based preschool we have been contracted by Wild and Free Education to create a new, tuition free Home School Enrichment Program for ages 6-11.
We also contract with other schools, grades 1-8, to facilitate Forest School sessions
(currently at La Luz Middle School and with The Rock Center).
Experienced Educators
Both Kat & Ryan are Colorado Dept Early Childhood Director & Coach Certified. They both have Masters level education, & ecological approaches in their work. Ryan is also a licensed secondary science teacher. Kat is trained in Wilderness First Aid, Ryan is trained as a Wilderness First Responder. Byrd has worked with youth in CO since 1996; from the Colorado Division of Wildlife to the Salvation Army, to youth league coaching, grassroots youth outreach efforts, serving as the Chief Mentor of his own mentoring program that partnered with the YMCA for after-school enrichment programs,
Passionate, deeply committed educators are an integral part of impactful education. We know the value of meaningful and engaging learning in the critical first years of development. As founders & lead teachers for this program, Kat, Ryan and Byrd are the teacher owners AND also in the field guides for each Nature School Season at the outdoor nature based preschool and our Forest School for older grades including the tuition free Wild & Free Homeschool Enrichment
