Service Description
The Nature School Cooperative’s week-long summer camp workshop will focus on teaching regenerative ecology awareness and practices, as well as wilderness survival skills. Your child will learn how to become a steward of the land and develop key survival skills, including tool usage, shelter building, fire starting, foraging, water filtration/purification, navigation, and more. Your child will learn through play, exploration, and hands-on experience. They will move their bodies, wander and explore, take on responsibilities, practice fine motor skills, do hands-on projects, tell their own stories, make up songs, and play to their heart's content. All of our programs provide a positive way for children to reconnect with nature and deepen their relationship with it. We structure our summer camp days to help children develop vital communication and problem-solving skills, mindfulness practices, and ways to find purpose and community in nature. Our highly qualified outdoor educators offer friendly care, personal attention, and teaching expertise that will help kids build a connection to nature, expand their knowledge, and gain skills and confidence. This is an all-outdoors program with seasonal learning that follows a student-led, natural, and relaxed pace throughout the day. Children will spend time in a mixed-age group, with part of the day in smaller groups based on age. Your child will need to be appropriately equipped and dressed for a full day of outdoor exploration! This includes a backpack with a water bottle, lunch, snacks, a change of clothes, sun protection for hot days, rain gear, water-safe shoes, and other essential items. If you forget to pack an item, no worries. We have an on-site gear library available. Give your child the gift of adventure, confidence, and connection to nature! At our week-long summer camp, they’ll gain essential wilderness survival skills, deepen their understanding of regenerative ecology, and experience the joy of hands-on outdoor learning. Whether they’re building shelters, foraging for food, or learning to navigate the wild, they’ll walk away with lifelong skills and unforgettable memories.
